_Jack-in-the-Box (chanting numbers)
Lets get fluent!
We are going to start by counting in the teens
Lets go 1,2,3,4.........
No choose a number between 10 and 20.
Once we reach the chosen number the student who the number lands on must jump out of their box

Preparing the Brain
What will I learn today?
I will learn the place value of the 1, 10 and hundreds and I will understand the similarities between the 20, 30, 110 and 120s ect
What am I looking for?
Possibilities- everyone needs to have a go and encourage each other to do well.

Number Line
Make a number line around the room in chunks of numbers
(e.g. 0 to 10). we are going to begin with the range 0 to 10, then add 11, 12, 13 to 19, 20, 21
to 29, and so on.
Ask: What sounds the same about the new numbers?
How does each new number sound different from the others?
Before counting lets think about the pattern sounds
when do the the number pattern sounds
different? (e.g. from 12 to 13, from 19 to 20).
Ask: What comes after 13 (14, 15)? What parts of the twenties sounds the same as the thirties

Rally Robin
Challenge once I believe you have MASTERED that concept you are going to skip count in '2s' past that number!
- You will be working with your shoulder partner
- You need 1 whiteboard between the 2 of you
- You also need a different coloured marker each
- I will be giving you a number 1-100 100-1000
- Once you have you number you will be rallying back and forth counting up from that number
- We will then practice counting backwards ( descending) from that number
